Les Douglas assumed the Chairmanship of the SMEC Foundation in January 2007, but has been a member of the Management Committee since the establishment of the Foundation in 2001. Les spent more than 20 years as an Australian diplomatic including several years as the Australian Ambassador to Nepal. He joined SMEC in 1995 and is Director Corporate Affairs. He has considerable experience in the planning and management of small scale community development projects through NGOs and as part of the Australian aid program.
